In plain language
A prototype app that connects people living with long-term conditions such as diabetes, so they can support each other and share practical advice.
Why it matters
- Most diabetes care happens outside the clinic, and people often learn the most practical lessons from each other.
Overview
Living with diabetes is a daily task that happens mostly outside the clinic. People often learn the most practical lessons from others who live with the same condition.
C.P.-Support (Chronic Patients Support) developed a prototype of an intelligent peer-support platform for chronic disease management, with a focus on people living with diabetes. It anticipated DAQIQ’s interest in the lived experience of diabetes.
Objectives
- Design a peer-support platform for people managing chronic conditions such as diabetes.
- Use intelligent matching and content to connect people with relevant peers and information.
Approach and data
- Prototype development funded by the HBKU Innovation Centre.
